I started going to Lionheart hot yoga in March after seeing it advertised on Facebook because my regular exercise (mainly circuit training at Beverley leisure centre) was having a negative impact on my body especially my knees almost to the point where I was struggling to walk upstairs some days but since taking up yoga, this has improved a hundred fold and run up them now. It has also helped me lose body fat and made my muscles more lean, improved my core strength and improved my ability focus. I have made a lot of new friends through Lionheart hot yoga, all the staff are so friendly and most helpful, the facilities are top notch and to be honest it's downright addictive. To be honest I think I would be there every day if I lived nearer.
Really first class Hot Yoga studio. The teachers are knowledgeable and encouraging. There is a real friendly community vibe among the students. Very welcoming to newcomers. Recommend.
I was convinced to go to hot yoga by my daughter, my first class was a yin class, I was so relaxed afterwards that I had the best nights sleep in months. I was recovering from a rotator cuff injury so the flow classes were too much for me. I tried a Bikram class and thought it was too much, but was convinced by David to give it another try and here I am 7 months later with a fully healed shoulder. Bikram has the power to heal all sorts of ails, plus I've lost over a stone in weight without even trying (I've never said that before). My hormones have settled down. I'm hooked. You're guaranteed a warm welcome from all the staff and other students. It's a wonderful place to find your bliss.
I was very lucky to find this studio in Hull while I was visiting UK. I fell in love with this place especially with their helpful, kind, warm and supportive staff and teachers. Don't be scare to try a class , it doesn't matter which level you are I can assure you that you will be treated very kindly. Lion Heart Hot Yoga Hull is absolutely friendly and cozy. I have to say that bikram yoga is not always easy but is always worth it. You'll see how this challenging yoga will change you not only physically but mentally too. You will find many classes here that complements the others so you can chose the perfect class for you or maybe all of them!!! Find a balance. Give it a try, you will never regret it. Five stars and more. Thank you Michelle and David for this lovely place!!
Amazing hot yoga studio would recommend all practices : Yin , Inferno Pilates , Vinyasa , Bikram etc . Michelle , David & all the team make you feel so welcome . You can socialise after the yoga practise in comfort with friendly like minded people also enjoyable Delicious fresh juices & great range of yoga clothing / equipment . Defiantly more than a five star yoga studio.
Visited this place for the first time yesterday and what a hidden gem this place is! I was delighted to see Giga who taught at Bikram Leeds and also Michelle from Bikram Manchester and Leeds The studio has very welcoming friendly staff and the reception area is so lovely and relaxing.I can't recommend this place enough, great classes with great teachers.I went again this morning and I'll be back tomorrow for the 9am class. I wish I lived closer so I could get here more often.
Hurrah for hot yoga in HULL! A super friendly studio and I felt right at home as soon as I arrived. Super area to buy goodies such as reusable water bottles, deliciously smelling shower gels (also available to use in their changing rooms!), lots of brilliant leggings and super fun yoga notecards and other gifts. The studio is spotlessly clean with large changing rooms and good showers with lockers for valuables. The class was taught safely and with so much love plus a little laughter. I love that the studio is filled with light and views of the humber too. A brilliant experience, easy to park too (take change for the meter). Thank you Michelle and the Lion Heart Hot Yoga team.
All the classes are amazing and the facilities are incredible! Since starting here my hip injury has greatly improved, my fitness has increased and so has my general well being. I would recommend it to anyone, no matter what level you are at there’s something here for everyone. 10/10.
Hot Yoga Hull is filled with so much love, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, with a smiling happy face. My enthusiasm and love for Bikram Yoga grows every single day. Try it for yourself, see how it transform you!!!
The team at hot yoga are amazingly friendly and helpful. Now I must admit it is probably one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done but I feel absolutely amazing after doing a few sessions this week. I can’t wait to do more classes next week even tho I’m still aching from Friday nights inferno haha.
Definition of community! Love this space. A place where you can feel welcomed and judgement free. A place to look yourself in the mirror and prove to yourself how awesome you are.

I started about 2 weeks ago and have been going about 3/4 times a weeks. I did a bit of Yoga beforehand without heat, but would definitely say I am a beginner and what I love about this place especially is how helpful, kind and supportive the staff are no matter the level you work at. If you're like me, a little nervous walking into new places alone I can guarantee you Lion Heart is so welcoming. Hot yoga is challenging not only physically but mentally too, if you can get through a class you'll see how accomplished you feel after, what ever the reason you join for. I would highly recommend Lion Heart for all levels of Yogis.
I visited for the first time yesterday for the Yin Yoga immersion workshop. I had such a lovely afternoon from the moment I walked in to the reception to the minute I left. It was my first Yin session and it was awesome, after 2 hours I was a hot sweaty mess but totally blissed out Thank you everyone for the great experience and a huge thank you to Mike for such a fabulous class I am now totally addicted to Yin. Definitely 5 star rating!
I started going to Hot Yoga Hull on 28.01.2019 and I have been every night since starting. The staff and everyone who are so friendly they make you feel at home. Yes I would definitely recommend going here.
I went to my first Bikram session today and the whole experince was fantastic. the staff were all helpful and reassuring, I felt dizzy during the class due to not being used to the heat and exercise but felt comfortable to carry on when I was ready in my own time. Was lovely to talk to some of the other customers too, it was just a very friendly atmosphere. the facilities were also very clean and of high standards, can't wait to get to my next session.
I went to my first Bikram class yesterday, and absolutely loved it, didn't really know what to expect as never done any yoga at all before. I was given a tour of the areas which are spotless and clean, and you can see that the owners have paid attention to detail. When I entered the room for the class, I thought OMG im not going to be able to stand this heat, but really once we got going I was fine. I can't wait to go back to my next class, and the next, and the next.
Absolutely fantastic!!! I have trained for a body building comp and I have been lifting for the last 8 years of my life and I can honestly say that I have never sweated that much ... EVER!! My body feels like I have just smashed a all over body workout and then some! Great work guys .
I've been going going to lion heart yoga for 3 weeks now and I love it. I mentioned to one of the instructors after a class last week that my hip was sore, an after affect of a back injury, and this week she addressed opening of hips within the class and it was my favourite class yet! And my back and hip are feeling much better. The studio itself is so clean it has a welcoming calm zen like feeling about it with twinkly lights in the ceiling. Staff are really welcoming and helpful to assist with queries and advice. Everyone should try this studio.
Had my first class here on Wednesday (vinyasa). Having done hot yoga in Liverpool for a long time and now having relocated it is always a little scary going somewhere new. I need not have worried really lovely welcome. Shown around and I adore the studio with the calming ceiling lights and amazing view across the city. The class was exactly what I needed, beautifully led, calm atmosphere. See you on the mat x Namaste x
5 super megastars! Mum (Ali) started at Lion Heart hot yoga nearly 2 weeks ago. Although the outside is a 70s tower block in Hull the 8th floor is a delightful haven. The yoga studio is a clean and contemporary space where a warm welcome is guaranteed. From the minute you walk in to the calmness of the studio both Michelle and David look after you. They want you to get the most of your session. Michelle is an excellent teacher as are the rest of the team. Plenty of teaching points are given and the team will work with you to help you with your stiffest bits of the body. The hot box where the sessions are held is airy and light with great views over the city, which you can see from a range of angles as you hold different poses. I am almost reluctant to highly recommend as I enjoy the calmness and space but if you want to try hot yoga this is the place to come. You’ll become addicted!
I really enjoy coming to hot yoga to practise as it’s such a great form of exercise that complements what I already do for a living and how I already exercise. As a dancer I stretch very often but don’t usually do it with such an intense environment and with the focus and meditation that you do in yoga. I have taken many yoga classes over the last few years and sometimes I don’t find them challenging enough as I am used to balancing and stretching intensely but with the heat I really do find it a challenge. Michelle is a great teacher and corrects me in a way that I usually don’t work my body which I find challenging and takes more focus. As well as working my body extremely hard and pushing it in different ways than I have before, I find hot yoga very meditative and in a strange way relaxing. Sometimes my exercise regime is very intense and it can be hard to switch off when I get home and struggle to sleep or relax but the hot yoga I find tires me out both in body and mind. I don’t need to wind down after class and usually when I get home and feel like I could go straight to sleep. I love doing yoga and I enjoy pushing my body to the max in my practise and I love the feeling I get afterwards of fulfilment and revitalisation but also calm and chilled out.
I started attending Michelle’s Bikram Yoga Classes about 9 months ago after a friend of mine told me about them. Although I’d been practising yoga for about 14 years and I had been a Hatha Yoga Instructor for 4 years, I was still slightly apprehensive and wasn’t sure what to expect. When I arrived for my first class (with my yoga mat clutched in a nervous, sweaty hand), Michelle was so welcoming and friendly and instantly put me at ease. Her explanations throughout the class were excellent and she was so encouraging and positive. I found the first class tough but I loved it and couldn’t wait to go back! I regularly attend now and although I still find it challenging, I can feel a positive difference. When I first starting going I had lower back issues and was very stiff around the knee joints. These problems are a thing of the past now. There are still postures that I can’t quite do but with Michelle’s guidance, I’m improving. I can’t recommend Michelle enough. She is an excellent teacher – extremely knowledgeable and very experienced. Her classes are fantastic and I would recommend them to anybody who wants to improve their flexibility, their strength, their focus and overall well-being.
I have witnessed significant benefits for myself and my fighters. We attend a minimum of two Bikram Yoga classes per week, this is in addition to a very rigorous sport-specific program that the fighters follow. We have found that the hot yoga classes really complement the other training sessions in the following ways: Reduces muscle soreness from previous training sessions and aids recovery, Increases flexibility, Improves balance and core strength, Makes breathing more efficient - controlling your breath is such an important part of yoga that it becomes a lot easier when training in other areas, Helps to lose water-weight before a fight, Some of the body weight poses use muscle groups that are difficult to engage and work using other types of training, Reduces stress and anxiety (boxing can be very stressful) - yoga helps to elevate our moods and provides a welcome change from our usual, daily training regimes, Promotes an overall better connection between our minds and our bodies. I recommend Bikram Yoga to all my Personal Training clients and it is an integral part of all my fighters training regimes.
I love it! I love how it makes my body feel and how invigorated, yet tired from a job well done. Rheumatoid arthritis has caused my joints to seize up yet Bikram Yoga has given me back flexibility and ease in my body, reducing inflammation and pain. Its hard work, yet so worth it. Michelle is a fab teacher, she is kind, enthusiastic, and funny and really puts you through the poses. I’d recommend it for anyone. Thanks Michelle (shaggy!)
LOVE IT! I just absolutely love Bikram Yoga. My daughter bought me a 10 class pack of lessons with Michelle back in 2015 and I was instantly hooked and have not looked back since.
Having MS I wanted to keep myself mobile for as long as possible and had read various articles saying yoga had helped people like myself. I got home from work one night and my husband passed me a flyer that had been put through the letter box. BIKRAM YOGA CLASSES, local and beginners welcome. So the class was booked. I went along to the class not knowing what to expect or even if I would be able to do it especially as extreme heat can send my body into spasm. Michelle explained everything that we would be doing and this set my mind more at ease. So 90 minutes later I was tired but absolutely buzzing and that was the start of my Bikram journey. As some one with a chronic and unpredictable illness, yoga has helped me feel more in touch with my body and helps me live more comfortably in it. I have far more energy after classes and my husband says it makes me glow. Thank you Michelle for your guidance (and patience), If I can do it anyone can x
"We choose to go to Bikram and do other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organise and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone." Okay, I kinda borrowed those words from JFK and applied them to hot yoga, but it perfectly describes my intentions towards the discipline of Bikram. I have always been resistant to any form of discipline, and I could never understand why anyone would choose to do something that is hard when taking the easy path is so much … easier. But a daily routine of working at a computer, eating convenient food and drinking beer was taking its toll. The ‘free pass’ granted to me by youthful genetics had well and truly expired. My ass was getting fatter, beer belly expanding and breaths becoming shorter. Clutching at my lower back and wincing in pain whenever I got out of a chair was normal. As well as being a physical wreck I was also fed up. When I was a kid I thought I would grow up to be rich and successful, but I wasn’t. My life lacked focus and was going nowhere. My mind was becoming a toxic loop of self-doubt and fear that demanded booze and weed to silence it. Something needed to change. I needed to change. A few years previous when I was living in London I’d been introduced to all sorts of different yoga classes, including Bikram. I loved it, but didn’t keep it up. It wasn’t the right time. However, when I saw an advert for Hot Yoga Hull, I knew the time was right. It was a challenge I was willing to accept, one I was unwilling to postpone any longer. My comfort zone, it turns out, was a padded cell and Bikram had given me the key. Bikram is hard. Relentless. Demanding. It doesn’t care if you are young or old, male or female, fat or fit - it treats everyone as an equal. It forces you to look at yourself, literally, in full-length mirrors, sweating and quivering for 90 minutes. There is no escape from the hot room. There is no escape from yourself. But this isn’t about escaping, it’s about empowering. It gives you the confidence to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations, to be calm under pressure and to be guided by the right path. It teaches you how to believe in yourself and to love yourself, because you can do so much more than you can possibly imagine. It will organise your mind and measure the best of your energies and skills. Now I am healthier, happier and more focused than ever before. Life is sometimes hard, but I am confident that I can cope with whatever it throws at me and I will always do my best in any situation.
"I first started the Hot Yoga in Summer. I was very apprehensive about it due to being of a certain age, and having hot sweats which also caused me some anxiety. After speaking to Michelle about my concerns, she assured me I would be fine in the hot room and it would help with my symptoms. I still felt apprehensive but trusted what she had told me. I started with the Yin class to see how the heat felt. Due to the temperature and relaxation, I couldn't feel any hot sweats, I was just sweaty from the class. Afterwards I felt amazing, relaxed and glowing. I now come every week to 3 or 4 classes, doing a variety of them all. I sleep better and my hot sweats are virtually gone. It's a lovely, friendly place and I'm so glad I put my trust in Michelle's experience. Thank you x"
